Reinforcing Fibers & Fiber Grades
To tailor the mechanical properties to specific requirements, A+ Composites offers PA12-based semi-finished products with various high-performance fibers and fiber grades. The selection is based on the load path and the specific application.
Carbon fibers (CF):
- HT / UHT (High / Ultra High Tensile): High tensile strength and elongation at break
- HM (High Modulus): Increased stiffness for rigid components with minimal deformation requirements
- UHM (Ultra High Modulus): Maximum stiffness for high-precision structural components with minimal deflection
Glass fibers (GF):
- ECR-Glas (E-GF Corrosion Resistant):
Improved chemical resistance - S2-Glas (S2-GF): High-performance glass fiber with increased strength and stiffness, and excellent fatigue properties
Aramid fibers (AF):
- very high energy absorption
- excellent damage tolerance
- low density with high toughness
PA12 UD Tapes – Specifications & Geometries
Our unidirectional tapes are designed for repeatable production processes:
- Thickness: ca. 0,05 – 0,30 mm
- Fiber Content: 40 – 65 Vol.-%
- Widths: von 6,35 mm bis 104 mm
Uniform impregnation, tight tolerances, and consistent material quality ensure reliable processing.
