Innovative lightweight construction with customized tow preg tapes – now also available as thin ply from 85 µm
We are pleased to introduce two new product families for high-performance lightweight construction with LM PAEK matrix: carbon fiber tapes (CF) with intermediate modulus (IM) and ultra-high tenacity (UHT) fibers, as well as glass fiber tapes (GF) with E-glass and S2 glass.
The new tapes are manufactured using the produced-to-size tow preg process and are now also available in particularly thin layers starting at 85 µm (thin ply). These thin-layer tapes enable fine laminate structures, precise layer control, and optimized mechanical behavior—particularly relevant for safety-critical or highly stressed structures.

Fields of application:
Typical areas of application for the new tape series include aerospace, the automotive and electrical industries, mechanical engineering, and sports and leisure. Applications with high thermal, mechanical, or chemical requirements benefit particularly from the new material solutions.

CF tapes (IM & UHT): For extreme requirements
IM tapes offer an ideal stiffness-to-weight ratio. The UHT (ultra-high tenacity) variant offers exceptional strength and toughness, making it particularly suitable for applications with high mechanical loads—such as safety-critical components in aerospace, electromobility, or motorsports.
With a strength of up to 3200 MPa, CF tapes offer exceptional mechanical properties that are in demand in the most demanding applications.
GF tapes with LM-PAEK: High performance, economical, versatile
The combination of glass fibers with a specially developed LM-PAEK matrix enables energy-efficient processing while offering high chemical and thermal resistance—perfect for cost-sensitive series components with high technical requirements.
Depending on requirements, A+ Composites offers two variants:
🔹 E-glass – the economical standard fiber with excellent electrical insulation properties and solid mechanical performance. Ideal for applications with high volumes and moderate mechanical stress.
🔹S2 Glass – a higher-performance fiber that offers significantly greater strength, temperature resistance, and excellent impact resistance compared to E-Glass – perfect for components under dynamic or structural stress.
